Big prayers needed for Peoria Dream Center in downtown Peoria. It’s located in the old YMCA. Andy King is the director.

They have been seeing more people in need than ever before and the weight of it can get very paralyzing at times. Just for perspective - around 6 yrs ago at their homeless shelter, the numbers would have been 40-50 women and children being in the emergency shelter over night. They are now seeing 170-190 people each night, a third of those are under 17. August alone they served 14,000 meals at DCP! So the weight of this is huge! Financially it’s tough at times, resources are limited but this is the way Jesus is presented to SO many.

The needs are great, BUT God is greater! Thank you. Blessings

Lord, we pray for the people & families affected in this recent hurricane and it’s destructive effects that ripped through several! We pray for the organizations working in the trenches like Samaritan‘s Purse, American Red Cross, FEMA, all the churches, & ALL the people and organizations working together in this enormous cleanup effort. We Pray for families of those who lost their lives during this horrific storm, for those without homes & businesses, and for the restoration of Hope & a future for ALL these people!! May all their needs be met! In Jesus’ name we pray!

Special testing in bettendorf on the 24th re: right eye cataract surgery. Surgery not set yet but will be soon after. Prayers for calmness & peace as she waits for impending surgery . Also pray for continued clear vision for her left eye so no cataract forms .

9-19-24 Barb Ely is having surgery Sept. 27 at 9 am for the removal of cancerous cells on the roof of her mouth. Quite extensive surgery. “ Lord, help her thru this!! And Thank u ahead for making the recovery smooth.”

Please pray for Marilyn’s nephew Keith’s wife, Sarah. They’ve been married just 1 year. She’s a young teacher & now a farmer’s wife also. She had her thyroid removed due to cancer nodules a few years ago. The Dr. has ordered a biopsy after her latest checkup of the right side of her neck due to something suspicious. Oct. 2nd is the procedure date.
Thank you Lord for taking care of her & we’re believing that this is normal cells in Jesus’ name!

8-21-24 My mom Darlene in upstate NY fell and broke her hip. Had surgery in ICU she is 88 my brother cares for her in her home. Prayers as recovery hard at her age and has many other issues going on.

Please pray for the family of Robin Snyder who passed away July 2nd after a very short 3 week battle with cancer. Robin was a friend of mine from nursing school. She leaves behind her husband, Brian, and their two 20-year-old children, Avan and Hayden. She will join her 3 sons in heaven, Miles, Gabriel, and Elliott, who died shortly after their birth 20 years ago. I know her babies in heaven will love having their momma there with them, but I know her family here on Earth will miss her dearly. Please pray for strength, peace, and comfort for Brian, Ava, and Hayden.

Donna Strawn, Kelly Rice’s mom, was in the hospital today on IV, but is home now. She is still having bad throat pain and can’t swallow. They are waiting on CT results to rule out an abscess.

He was put in a medically induced coma and is in critical condition. On top of that, their family is stuck in Wisconsin because it happened there.

UPDATE 6-19-24 - After several tests we discovered my dad had a urinary tract infection and probably had it for awhile. He has been on strong antibiotics for 10 days and is feeling less UTI symptoms but has some side effects from antibiotics. Just a few more days to finish those up and we pray the side effects can go away too.

Thanks for all of the prayers and support for him and our family.

Thank you everyone for your ongoing prayers for my dad. He has been working hard to stay on his health and healing protocol but has been facing some long days of exhaustion and pain. We know the healing journey is not a straight line, there will be ups and downs. So we are trusting God through this journey.
Please pray for my dad's emotional health...he seems very down.
Please pray for wisdom on how best to help him with eating, therapies, and pain management.
Please pray for all of our strength to keep fighting the good fight.

UPDATE 5-24-24 - Praise report and continued prayers needed for Tony. His wife shared that he was only mildly confused today (Friday), which is a huge improvement. She said that yesterday (Thursday) was an awful day for him, so it has been a bit of a rollercoaster by the sounds of things. As it stands right now, in the next few days Tony will transfer to a physical rehabilitation unit where he will continue to work on his recovery for a few weeks. Patty is grateful for all the prayers! Thank you so much!

5-20-24 Please pray for Tony Hummel who is in ICU fighting off a lot of symptoms related to a tick bite. I thank God that He has provided Tony with a great infectious disease doctor. God already is at work and answering prayers! (No surprise there!!) Please also pray for his wife, Patty, and the rest of the family.

The owner of our rented home of 2 yrs in Bradford is now wanting to sell. We really feel at home here and are not wanting to move. We want to stay in Bradford.
Praying our landlord will sell to someone that will allow us to continue renting. If not, then praying we can find a suitable house to buy or rent in Bradford.

Update & Continued Prayer

PRAYER UPDATE from Dec. 28 post...
At the end of December, we took my Dad, Bill, to the ER with chest pains. During that "workup" they saw a mass on his pancreas. We started a protocol to deal with the mass and boost his overall immune system. His healing journey has felt like a roller coaster (both physically and emotionally) for all of us.
Prayers are appreciated for:
a) wisdom on diet, therapies, and all that is involved with the healing journey
b) that Dad and my family are drawn closer to God as we walk through this experience
c) for overall healing of mind, body, and spirit

Jeremiah 33:6 Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.

UPDATE 3-6-24 - Her new kidney is not doing well, but they hope it will show consistent improvement going forward.

The Lord is continually giving Tina this verse -

UPDATE 2-24-24 - Tina is home and getting better. Her kidney function level is still problematic hoping that it will improve significantly in time. Thanks for your continued prayers.

UPDATE - 2-10-24 - Tina did well in surgery 2 weeks ago for her kidney transplant but developed complications soon after. Several units of blood were given, but not the solution. So, Drs. did a 2nd kidney surgery this past week to find where she's losing blood. They’re now stripping her plasma daily, then replacing it. She’s young, loves the Lord, early 40’s. The Lord never leaves us or forsakes us, He never forgets us. He heals our wounds & restores our health! In Jesus’ name we pray & agree with His word. Thank you, Jesus! Her sister Deanna (the kidney donor) continues to be doing well.

1-22-24 -Please pray for Tina Forlines having Kidney transplant surgery on Jan.29. She’s Marilyn E's across-the-road neighbor. Tina asks that we pray for her sister‘s surgery who is the donor. Her sister’s never had an operation, and it’s scary for her; although she has faith in Jesus and is being brave.
Please pray for both their surgeons and OSF staff who will be in the OR with each of them, seamless recovery, AND please pray Tina's body will accept this kidney and it will work immediately. NO complications in Jesus’ name!
Also, Tina asks we please pray for her family who is traveling, and that they all stay healthy and strong so that surgery can go ahead.

UPDATE - 12-7-23 Continued prayers please, she is having an MRI of the spine on 12/27 - pseudo gout which is a painful form of arthritis.

11-12-23 - Please pray for my mom, Harriet Henn, for the resolution of the SOURCE of this awful pain. Specifically, neck pain as she is unable to move her head from side to side. Arm and hand pain radiating from the neck down too, Possible carpal tunnel syndrome. Excruciating pain up and down both legs. Was seen in the ER this week with horrible pain reminiscent of what she was hospitalized for in 2020.

By His stripes, we are healed! Is 53:5 Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. Js 5:14-15
